Terms of Service

1. About This Service

Drive-Up Donation Pickup ("we," "us," or "our") is an independent local service based in Tooele County, Utah. We pick up donation bags and boxes from your door and deliver them to Deseret Industries on your behalf. By scheduling a pickup and completing payment, you agree to these Terms of Service.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Deseret Industries or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

2. Service Area

We currently serve the following cities in Tooele County, Utah:

  • Tooele
  • Stansbury Park
  • Erda
  • Grantsville
  • Stockton

If your address is outside our service area, we reserve the right to cancel your booking and issue a full refund.

3. Scheduling and Payment

All pickups require full payment at the time of booking. Prices vary by city and are displayed clearly during the scheduling process. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

Your pickup is confirmed only after payment is successfully processed. You will receive a confirmation email with your pickup details.

4. Acceptable Items

We transport donations that Deseret Industries will accept. It is your responsibility to ensure your items are acceptable. Deseret Industries does not accept:

  • Mattresses, box springs, or bed frames
  • Tube televisions (CRT TVs)
  • Encyclopedias or Reader's Digest condensed books
  • Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane tanks, etc.)
  • Broken, heavily damaged, or non-functional items
  • Soiled, moldy, or heavily stained clothing or furniture
  • Car seats, cribs, or other recalled safety items
  • Firearms or ammunition
  • Food or perishable items

By booking a pickup, you confirm — as agreed to during checkout — that your items comply with Deseret Industries' donation guidelines. We reserve the right to refuse any items that are clearly unacceptable. Refused items will be left at your door; no refund will be issued for a pickup that was completed but contained refused items.

5. Pickup Window

We offer morning and afternoon pickup windows. The exact arrival time within your window is not guaranteed and may vary based on route and demand. Please have your bags placed outside your front door (or in an agreed-upon location) before the start of your pickup window.

If bags are not accessible when our driver arrives, we may not be able to complete the pickup. In that case, we will attempt to contact you. If we cannot complete the pickup due to inaccessible items, no refund will be issued, but we will work with you to reschedule at no additional charge.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before your scheduled pickup date are eligible for a full refund. Contact us at our contact page or at info@driveupdonationpickup.com to request a cancellation.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the pickup are not eligible for a refund, but we may reschedule your pickup at our discretion.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on your bank.

7. Limitation of Liability

Drive-Up Donation Pickup is not responsible for:

  • Items rejected by Deseret Industries after drop-off
  • Loss or damage to items once they have been accepted by Deseret Industries
  • Delays caused by weather, road conditions, or other circumstances outside our control
  • Any tax deduction value of donated items — please consult a tax professional

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from this service is limited to the amount you paid for the specific pickup in question.

8. Tax Receipts

We are a pickup and delivery service, not a charitable organization. Tax receipts for donated items, if applicable, are issued by Deseret Industries directly. We cannot provide tax documentation for the value of your donated goods.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
